Ex-Standard Triumph Competition Department | 1958 Monte-Carlo Rally | 1 of 4 Built, Believed Sole Survivor. Built November 1957 by the Standard Triumph Competition Department in Birmingham and registered in 1958 for the European Rally season. VRW 221 is believed to be the only surviving example of the four TR3As prepared for the 1958 Monte-Carlo Rally. Campaigned through 1958 by John Waddington, Desmond Titterington, Ron Gouldborn and David Mackay. Highlight result: 2nd overall on the Circuit of Ireland with Desmond Titterington and Brian McCaldin, finishing behind Paddy Hopkirk in another TR3A. Continuously owned and carefully preserved. Long-term steward Martyn Noel King kept the car for nearly 40 years, overseeing a sympathetic restoration. Retains its original engine and presents beautifully today.
