1969 Merlyn MK12A

One of only two Merlyn MK12’s manufactured, this example was managed as a semi works car by “Bob Gerard Racing” of Leicester for drivers such as Jonathon Williams, Gijs Van Lennep and Brian Hart. At the end of 1968 the car was returned to the Colchester Racing Developments factory to be upgraded for the 1969 season and was then given the designation 12a. Powered by the Cosworth FVA engine and Hewland FT200 gearbox with obligatory wide wheels and tyres it not only looks fantastic but firmly represents the golden era of Formula 2. Rebuilt to a really high standard around 20 years ago and not used for some time the Merlyn will need some gentle recommissioning, but what a lovely and almost unique prospect. £45k
