One of the very first "ground Effects" cars. Designed by Tony Southgate who had worked on the Shadow beforehand. Driven by the young Ricardo Patrese, debuting at the Brazilian GP, finishing 4th at the Canadian Grand Prix in the 1978 season. A number of 4th and 5th places followed in 1979. This car lead to a court case with Don Nichols of Shadow cars where it was adjudged to be a copy of the Shadow DN9 There was a total of four cars made and these were dismantled and handed over to Don Nichols in 1978 after the court case The monocoque and components were purchased from Don Nichols and chassis FA1/1 was built up The monocoque has been inspected by Jackie Oliver of Arrows cars who confirms that it is an original FA1 tub An early ground effect car with an unusual history involving the court case but nevertheless a great car to grace any Historic F1 grid.
