1973 Abarth-Osella PA1/08
We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer a superb example Abarth-Osella PA1. Chassis no PA1/08 was sold new in 1973 to a Spanish racer and hillclimber Luciana Ottero who started racing in the 1960's. He bought the Abarth-Osella to try and compete with the Porsche 908. Along with Jose Uriarte as co-driver, Ottero entered into the 1973 Barcelona 400Kms and in the May 1974 at Jarma, finishing 4th. This car along with 4 others was then kept in dry storage until 1988 and bought by a avid collector in Italy. In 1993 PA1/08 changed owners to Colin Poole. Colin restored and raced PA1/08 in the Masters historic series from the late 1990's until 2002 and then sold to a London based historic racer Jeremy Agace who successully raced the car with a Ford cosworth FVC engine fitted. In 2005 the car was rebuilt once again and repainted in the 1973 factory works livery as it still is today and continued to race until sold to the current owner and raced at the Barcelona Masters event in 2011 by Alan Simonson. In that same year the correct 2.0ltr Abarth engine was refitted, fully rebuilt and race prepared by Race Motorsport in Hertfordshire. In the winter of 2016 work started in preparation for the Masters Magny Cours Race weekend in July 17, carrying out extensive mechanical work and an engine refresh by Kendle Adams Motorsport, finishing 3rd at this event. On its return the car was prepared once again by Kendle Adams in preparation for the Masters Spa 6 hour Race weekend in September 2017. A beautifully example now fitted with zero km engine, ready for inspection with history portfolio (HTP, Crack detection certificate, fuel cell certificate, etc).
